The Fall Rut

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is photograph elk in rut. It's all about the drama—the sound of bugles echoing through the forest, a bull challenging another for his harem, and the fascinating behavior these animals exhibit this time of year. It's something special. I enjoy simply observing as the drama unfolds and, when the opportunity permits, making a photograph.
