AWDwR 2 Now Available!

May 02, 2006

Dave just announced that the second edition of Agile Web Development with Rails is now available as a beta book!

What's changed in Rails that would warrant a new edition, you ask? Well, it turns out to be quite a lot. Rails 1.1 came with an impressive assortment of new features, old features spiffed up, workflow enhancements, and other tweaks. Added to which, the state of Rails development has matured with each new project and we're all learning better ways to get things done. Indeed, Rails has undergone substantial changes for the better.

I can confidently say this second edition isn't just a gratuitous bit of light editing brushed on the first edition. This timely beta book is as fresh as it gets. Dave's put a ton of work into bringing the book up to date with all the latest and greatest stuff. As it currently stands, the tutorial has been largely rewritten and includes never-before-seen chapters. And Dave's Rails experience over the last year really shines through in the way he walks you through how to build web applications the Rails way. Oh, and you also get a brand new cover. :-)

If you're serious about Rails development, you owe it to yourself (and your customers) to have the most up-to-date information available. The book's page offers flexible purchasing options to help you get started today, and you can download updates as new content is added. Sounds like a great way to stay on the cutting edge of Rails, if you ask me...
